what to expect
Initial Consultation
We offer a free phone consultation to discuss your project and provide a price range estimate. This is a great opportunity to leverage our expertise and explore what's possible for your space. We can determine if our visions align with your anticipated budget. Typically, the projects we undertake start at $8K and above. Most clients invest between $12-30K, depending on the project item(s) and scope, materials, complexity of design, and sizing.
Custom Design
Once we gather all the necessary details and you’re ready to move forward, we ask for a $500 initial deposit. This deposit reserves your spot in our project schedule and covers:
In-person consultation – where we’ll see the space, confirm precise measurements, and discuss your vision thoroughly.
3D rendering of your project – delivered to scale so you can visualize how it will look in your home.
One complimentary design revision – to make sure the project aligns with your vision.
We typically land on a final version after this first round of revisions, since we’ll incorporate all your feedback at once. If additional revisions beyond that are needed, they’ll be billed at $75/hr. This allows us to keep refining the design to your exact specifications while keeping the process efficient and transparent.
Build
Once the design and materials are approved, we’ll provide a formal proposal with detailed cost, scope, and timeline. The project timeline will depend on when the final project scope was confirmed and where the project falls in our construction schedule. If you are ready to move ahead with the project, we request 60% of the payment to lock in a slot in our calendar and start the building process.
Delivery & Installation
The majority of construction takes place in our New York City-based woodworking studio; this minimizes the amount of time for installations so that there is as little disruption to your home as possible. Installation, which can take anywhere from one day for a smaller piece to 2 weeks or more for multiple large pieces. Our typical installation is about 4-5 days for a large living room built-in. All installation is done by our own team to make sure installation is done precisely. Final payment will be due after everything is successfully installed and reviewed by you.
